1. The student may become known of the peer that cannot follow directions and acts out often.

2. The student may have harder times in class following in failing grades and low grade point averages.

3. Many students may get expelled or receive many detentions from their teachers.

4. The student may have harder times finding friends due to embarrassment they can give off.

5. Teachers will have to give this student extra attention.

ADHD cannot be cured. But many of the symptoms that interfere with functioning and cause distress can be controlled. Becoming bale to latch onto control the best is meeting up with many different doctors and therapists.

1. Seat the child with ADD/ADHD away from doors and windows.

2. Put pets in another room or a corner while the student is working.

3. Alternate seated activities with those that allow the child to move his or her body around the room.

4. Whenever possible, incorporate physical movement into lessons.

5. Write important information down where the child can easily read and reference it.

6. Remind the student where the information can be found.

7. Divide big assignments into smaller ones.

8.Allow the children frequent breaks.

How does ADHD affect a Family?

1. Allowing a student to tape-record assignments. Kids with ADD tend to have trouble remembering spoken instructions.

2. Providing the child with a note-taking partner. ADHD-related handwriting problems can make it hard to keep up when taking notes.

3. Giving a lighter homework load. This is appropriate for children with ADD who struggle to get their homework done. The questions are just as hard - there are just fewer of them.
