Prezi in the Classroom
My students like the non-linear format Prezi offers. Unfortunately not all of them can create Prezi accounts. Ideally I would like to create a separate education Prezi account that my students can log into and use as well as see all of their peers' presentations. Any thoughts?
Vacation Traditions!

Watching Harry Potter (one each night we are away)
Mobile Prezi Application Review
Images taken from Google Images and uploaded through Prezi and approved for commercial use (even though I am not interested in selling my presentation).
The mobile version of Prezi is still in development. While the content of this presentation was generated using the mobile application, I did have to tweak a few things from my computer. The first modification I made was adding frames around my images and text so that the path between sections would flow more smoothly. I did not feel each picture and each block of text should be considered its own slide or require it's own "visit." So by adding frames all of the content for each section appears at once. In addition, I noticed I had to re-size a few images so that they were more on scale with the rest of my presentation. Overall, if I am on the go or need to adjust a presentation quickly - add or adjust content - Prezi is the application for me!
One of my favorite vacation activities is visiting local wineries. Unfortunately there weren't very many near us. One that we REALLY enjoyed was Hickory Hill. This winery is a small family owned and operated vineyard in Moneta, VA.
If I were to return to SML I would...
- Rent a Jet Ski for the week so that we could tube and do a bit more exploring
- Find a place that had a backyard with less steps (I had the GREATEST workout of my LIFE climbing the stairs to the dock!)
- Stay on a different part of the lake so that we could experience different restaurants and wineries
- Pack a fishing pole (the family a few houses down from us caught an 18lb. catfish!)
According to Wikipedia, SML was formed by the damming of the Roanoke river in 1963 to generate power for the local community. SML is the largest lake contained entirely in VA.
