Many of us have recently been given a SmartBoard in our classrooms. Sure, they're great tools, but are we getting the full use out of them? If you're here, it's probably because you feel like you aren't. Let's continue through this experience together! You'll get some basic information paired with some more advanced skills!
Introduction to your SMART Notebook software
Basic Skills
We are going to discuss how to insert a picture, the magic pen functions (draw, circle, square), my content, and how to insert a document.
You can also change written words into text very easily using SMART Notebook software!
Templates
There are many great resources for SmartBoard lessons. One of them is the SmartBoard lesson exchange located on the SMART website. Hundreds of great lessons are posted on the website that include:

To download a template you like, simply click on the picture of the lesson plan you want.
On the new page, simply click the green "download" button and select, "Save" on the window that pops up. Confirm the folder you want to save in and download the file by selecting, "Save" again.
Your template is now ready to use. Simply click into the template and make any changes you want!
Now take some time to search for templates you like and download them as needed! Before you leave this morning try to find at least one template you like and change it to meet the needs of one of your lessons!

Your SMART Notebook software looks like this. Since you have all been using your software for a while we are going to just cover a few pieces of information. The toolbar at the top shows basic functions. If you are unsure what they are just scroll your mouse over the top of them and a description will drop down. You DO NOT need to be hooked up to your SmartBoard in order to access your SMART Notebook software. You can design and save lessons using the software only.
There are many ways to search for lessons. You can type keywords into the search bar or click through various selections by subject matter.
