Some logos will be edited to relate to the movie, such as in 300 the Warner Bros logo is made to look like a shield and is damaged and dirty. This is to echo the story line of the film.
Conventions of film openings
The purpose of a film opening is to attract the audience to continue on watching the film. A film opening should also establish characters.
In movie intros you will have the production logos and distribution logos of the main companies that work on the movie, depending on the budget of the film.
The conventions of title sequences goes generally goes in this order:
- Production company logo
- Distribution logos
- Establishing shot/ blank screen with title
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
We followed these conventions in out own film openings as it pretty much goes in that order.
We started off with our production and distribution company which was CandI studios and then it went to a black screen with our movie title being shown. Therefore we did not challenfe the conventions.
