The social group we have represented in our film openings is gender representation
Our main character is a female, and within the opening she transforms, in to a typical stereotype female, she wears a dress with heels, and has loads of make up, that she put on.
Representation refers to the building of different aspects of ‘reality’ such as people, places, objects, events, cultural identities and other abstract concepts.
For example, the way media represents teenagers:
We represented our main character agreeing with the stereotype, as many people think women mainly care about appearances, we made her very sharp about hers.
