Make-up
Casting process
- Once we had decided that we wanted a female protagonist, Matt and I thought of potential actresses for our final task. We decided that we would need someone that could portray a mysterious demeanour without making our film look cliched. We knew from experience that Amy Williams was a talented actress, as we used her acting skills in our preliminary task
- We wanted Amy wearing natural make-up, but we decided that she had to be wearing enough for her face to look matt on camera. Also, we thought that make-up suited the female teenager stereotype.
Casting, Costume and Make-up
Costume
- Costume was very important in our final, as we didn't want to give the impression that Amy was too young, and we didn't want to detract from the action by putting bright or statement jewellery and clothing on her.
- We decided to have Amy wearing plain black leggings, as we didn't want her wearing anything that could alter the image we were trying to portray to the audience.
- We didn't want there to be any visible branding, so we made sure that the UGG branding wouldn't be visible on camera before we made the decision of having Amy wearing UGG boots. We had no plain black boots, and we wanted Amy to still be portrayed as 'the average teenager', therefore twe thought that UGG boots would be most appropriate for the film.
- Amy owns a plain black coat, and we thought this most appropriate as we didn't want the audience to notice her clothing, we wanted the main focus to be on her face and her actions.
