Magic Birth

Call to Adventure

Road of Trials

So what can we understand from

looking at Mythology through time?

The human archetype

of Mythology

Our collective unconscious makes us relate with this

type of journey. We strive for the journey of the Hero

Humankind naturally strive for

the same pattern of epic stories

Steps of the Monomyth and similarities in religious stories

Jesus was conceived by the virgin

Mary and born in Bethlehem as the

son of god.

Queen Maha Maya conceived

Siddhartha from the holy elephant

through a dream.

Baby Moses was set upon the river Nile in a basket, picked up

by the pharaohs daughter and raised in royal family

When the ferryman takes Siddhartha across the

river he has to face the trials of temptation from a woman in order to continue his quest for enlightenment.

Jesus is tempted three times in the desert by Satan, as Jesus

passes through the trials the narrative move towards

his divinity.

Moses calls down the seven plagues on the Pharaoh until he agrees to let his people go. He is then forced to part the red sea in order to ensure the freedom of the Hebrew people.

The steps of the Hero's

journey in modern film

God speaks to Moses through the burning

bush and tells him to return to Egypt and

free his people.

Siddhartha becomes weary of his way

of life and decides he must venture away

from what he is accustomed to, so he can

achieve enlightenment.

The baptism of Jesus, one of the

first milestones of his journey.
