Will They Become Extinct?
To save the polar bears we need to raise awareness and stop the man made global warming. And even if we find a way to do that the earth is warming naturally. Some day there will be a time when there are no more polar bears.
Our goal at P.B.I is to save the polar bears and there natural ice habitat .The modern zoo's play a critical roll in saving the polar bears because it shows the humans how endangered they really are.
The P.B.I idea
Moving the polar bears to Antarctica would not solve the problem because we are trying to save them and their habitat. Also the polar bears would mix with the native animals there and that wouldn't be good. You need to have biodiversity in a good habitat.

Diet Changing
Scientists think that polar bears are having to hunt more on land sense the polar ice caps are melting, and they aren't able to catch seals. When they get to land they are eating goose eggs witch doesn't fill them up and is killing the geese. This it is just not good for the food chain and is effecting other species.
As the world continues to get warmer the ice melts making it hard for the bears to move . A good solution for this is tranquilizing them and then flying them to the north but the scientists don't think that is such a great idea because they want to save the polar bears and there habitat

Why is polar bear hunting allowed?
The polar bear grizzly hybrids may not be a sympton of global warming. The polar bears have been interbreeding in zoos and in the wild. If global warming continues by the time next year when the polar bears start to land on the land the breeding season will be over for both of the species.
Polar bear hunt is a tradition for native americans. Polar bears provide lots of food for the native americans. There used to be trophy hunting for polar bears but it was banned in 1970. Hunting is now goverend by a quota system. Ypu can only kill within the bounds that the population can support.
There are alot of ideas scientists have about polar bears. Most of them have not been put into action.
