This type of title sequence is when

the titles are overlayed on top of a

video/moving image which is usually the setting of the movie or sometimes its when the titles are overlayed on top of the begging of the movie to set the scene for the audience and introduce them swiftly and quickly into the storyline.

Titles on a Blank Screen

This is one of the most popular title sequences, as it is very simple and very cheap to produce unlike other methods, this is simply the title sequences being played accompanied by music on top of a blank, black screen.

Kidulthood uses this method of introducing

the movie, they use grunge/grime type

music to fit the theme of the film so

the audience can still identify what type of film it is.

This is an example of a title sequence layed on a still image, this is from the movie 'Les Revenants', it is an effective way of introducing the movie as it helps set the scene, each image in the background changes to a different part of the scene, and gets about 3 second screen time, the titles font and colour scheme also connects with the image.

Titles on a still image is a simple yet effect way of

opening a tv show or movie, it is also one of the most popular choices by directors. It is a combination of Text, Music in the background and An Image in the background also. The audience can make a connection between the images used in the background and the music choice to figure out what genre of movie they are watching.
