Another example of one of Billboards front covers.

This time the Masthead

goes along the side

of the magazine and

is in a deep red colour,

complimenting the lighting

and text.

Key colours used like the previous magazine. Makes the front cover bold and lets it stand out.

Text just in front of the artist, ties it in and lets it blend into the shot.

Still has similar artists of the same genre on the front to engage the audience.

Codes and conventions of Billboard magazine

By: Kayleigh Stevens - Keatley

Artist looking right into the lens. Inviting and draws in the reader.

White text - new, polished, fashionable etc. Inviting for the younger audience.

Use of the bold colours

in the Billboard logo

Uses the same colours

throughout the spread

(light blue, white, yellow

and red). - Bright colours that

capture the eye and make the

reader want to take notice.

Billboard magazine mainly

has the celebrity in front of

the masthead, draws attention straight to her, sales will be greater due to celeb on the page.

Name of artist on front cover -

wanting recognition as some

viewers may recognise the name

more than the actual face of the

artist.

Use of midshot is very common with Billboard, draws more attention to the artist rather than the text and surroundings on the front page.

Price located on the front cover, lets reader know straight away the amount needed to purchase the magazine.

Extra information on the bottom

of the magazine to make the

reader want to purchase the

magazine.
