In this post apocalyptic film i explored a lot more ways in the editing of my film. In the preliminary task i tended to just let my clips jump from scene to scene. In the post apocalyptic film however i used the dissolve edits often so that i felt like the film flowed better. I also used edits like warp stabilizer in the post apocalyptic film which i didn't know about when editing my preliminary task.
We used a wide range of camera angles throughout my post apocalyptic film. These varied from;
Point of view shots, tracking shots,long shots, eye level shots,etc. We did this and used a wide range of shots so the audience could almost feel like they're there in film. This is something that i don't think i ever achieved in my preliminary film. I feel like with these changes from the preliminary task it can take it to the next level above.
In the preliminary task i felt like the narration didn't seem to fit the story in terms of audio quality. I also feel like there wasn't enough narrative in it to tell a good story to the audience. To build on this i tried to script out a more detailed narrative for the post apocalyptic opening. I also tried to blend the audio with the background music so it didn't sound out of place like the preliminary audio did.
I spent a lot more time both editing and recording the clips for the post apocalyptic film compared to the preliminary task. I feel that after i did my preliminary task i realized how much better i could have made it if i just spent a lot more time in the recording and editing process.
In my preliminary task i tried using sound effects like a gun shot. Before editing my post apocalyptic film i watched the preliminary task and realized that the sound effects didn't actually fit very well. I also didn't think that there was any sound effects that i could have used that would work well. So due to this i didn't include any sound effects in my post apocalyptic film.
