Cell Phone/Ear Bud Policy

Phones/device MUST be inside backpacks (not in a pocket) in class and and in the hallways.

No earbuds/airpods in hallway.

Devices can be used after a student eats & cleans up their lunch.

Why the change?

Other Important Info...

Supplies

  • Make sure your child has a pencil and reading book each day
  • Clorox wipes, pencils, candy donations always appreciated
  • Donating to our reading program is my #1 request:)

Flexible Seating

is an essential part of a brain-friendly class allowing student choice, movement and creativity to promote focus and engagement.

Students will choose a new seat during the first week of school to see what works for them.

That becomes "home base" for the trimester.

We'll move to tables for group work and

they'll be in teams where they can earn

points for a party.

I Have Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

  • I'm in remission and manage the disease well (see my blog for more information)
  • I do have a compromised immune system. Please don't send sick children to my class--I'd be so grateful!
  • I'm very open about talking about my disease, so don't hesitate to ask questions.

My family ...

3 kids (18, 16, 13)

Married for 22 yrs.

Passionate about what I do!

When a student finishes a book, they need to record it on their Bingo sheet in their Reader's Notebook. Write the title and "1" for 1st trimester.

When I pass it off and talk to them, I'll sign it.

We do have a book equivalency (see handout).

ANY book level-appropriate counts: just ask!
