We used a web based survey distributer Survey Monkey to create our questionnaire, we then distributed it using Facebook to target a large proportion of our target audience.
Our results told us that our target audience had similar ideas of the colour and locations of our video with a considerable percentage stating they want to see our video in a park setting. Despite mixed opinion with a Bruno Mars character featuring in our video with 50% saying yes and no but we chose to integrate performance shots with a narrative based video.
Throughout the development of our video we had to take into account the feedback from our rough cut into our production.
One of our feedback was to use cross dissolve this was a brilliant tool as it made our whole video flow a lot smoothly.
Another feedback we had was to have our 'Bruno' sing properly as the footage we had did not look realistic enough. After reshooting all our singing shots we saw a large improvement to our video, showing the feedback was extremely useful.

Questionnaire results
Final evaluation
Our methoology was to use a focus group and an online questionnaire. The focus group used open questions which were given to our audience members who were teenage boys and girls. The questionnaire consisted of closed questions to gain quantative data, we used several different forms of questions such as semantic differential, ranks and scales.
The methodology which we used to test our concept was a questionnaire consisting of open and closed questions, largely aimed at audiences that stereotypically would consume our product so mostly young aged females. This gave us some idea of what they would expect from a Bruno Mars music video.
The ability to test our concept before our pitch allowed us to determine what areas of our video we had to concentrate on to convey our idea to our audience of the pitch. It also allowed us to organise our ideas collectively and clearly. From our pre-pitch concept development was that we were able to find what audiences expect from our genre/artist, which were able to express on clearly during the pitch to ensure our project was green lighted. It influenced how we conducted our pitch as it fine tuned our ideas and presumptions of music videos belonging to the same genre as ours.
The majority of viewers said yes because they understood the genre charcteristics of pop which we aimed to emulate.
Did you prefer the performance or narrative?
We expected the audience to prefer the narrative because it has more of a story line and displays more of a range of scenary, angles and action.
,
These resuts have shown that our piece is a success because it meets audience expectations of the pop genre and successfully promotes Bruno Mars as a star.
The responses also showed that the video was consistent with the pop genre and they agreed it was aimed at girls rather than boys. This is consistent with our ideas of target audience because the voyeuristic manner in which we as an audience view the couples relationship and Bruno Mars is more appealing to girls. Videos for boys would take a fetishistic view.
