Vaccines, Ebola, Cancer and Cure
Most diseases nowadays have a cure. A cure is a medicine that makes you better, like an antibiotic. A good example is smallpox, mans deadliest
disease. It killed 300 million people. The black death only killed 75 million. Now your vaccine has immunity, there is medicine and drugs. Its no longer a threat. Ebola however, is. It has no cure. And it can kill. That's why when you get a tummy bug, the doctor gives you a yucky, sticky goop that they actually expect you to swallow.
Conflict is caused by people dying or getting to sick to pay for food or treatment and grief when people die.
DISEASE
Sick people are very tired
Some are dying
Scientists develop a cure
To make your body
Once again pure
ON DISEASE
People beware of the virus
as it can be spread by pyrus.
A vaccine is your, say, 11-year-old shots. It's what stops you getting really sick and stuff. It works by putting either a small part, a dead or a weak version of the disease into your body so that your cells (red, white, T and B cells) can recognize and fight the disease. (Red cells stop bleeding, white fight disease and T & B cells tore info about it. Scientists are currently researching DNA vaccines to make you basically a weapon against disease. But in the mean time you will just have to put up with about ten needles in your lifetime.
Ebola. The current outbreak has lots of people scared and has killed thousands. The victims cannot make money to pay for treatment. Chaos. The virus is a hemorrhagic fever, which means it kills by; 1 internal/external bleeding and 2, dehydrates you. It has a 90% fatality rate and no cure has been developed. by drinking lots of water the fatality rate drops to 25%. Symptoms are: sweating, fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Doctors are researching a cure and 2 experimental vaccines are being tested. Soon Ebola could be a gone as smallpox.
Cancer and cell growth are related. Cancer starts from 1 faulty cell. Most cells only split as needed but cancer cells split constantly. Cancer can spread through the body in 3 ways. 1: it finds a similar organ to it and reproduces there before infecting other organs, 2: It uses blood vessels as they lead all over the body so its like a highway for cancer cells, and 3: it uses the nerve system. It also goes
everywhere but also opens in blood vessels in some places. Treatment can be radiation treatment, but radiation hits everything, not just cancer cells. This leads to cell death, hair loss and humiliation and most people cannot pay for their family's food because they cannot work. So cancer remains a conflict between humans and cells.
