Although eBooks have gotten the attention of the younger audience and encouraged more of our youth to read and allow the spread of literature to be even easier. They still do not prove more affective than printed books when it comes to be able to understand the actual reading, which is ultimately leading to a lack of acual learning while reading. So whether not eBooks are positively affecting or negatively affecting people or not, eBooks are surely no all good.

Heather and Jordan Schugar, a professor and instructor at West Chester University presented their findings on eBooks. "(The students with eBooks) were much more motivated to read, but they were able to re-tell less."

An eBook is an electronic version of a printed book that you can download on various devices. Tablets like eReaders and Kindles are popular devices where people buy, download, and read eBooks in substitution of a classic physical printed book.

Multiple studies have shown that reading material on paper is easier to retain compared to information on a screen.

Anne Mangen of Norway's Stavanger University came forth with similar findings stating, "we found that paper readers did report higher on measures having to do with empathy and transportation and immersion, and narrative coherence, than iPad readers."

Efficiency and Practicality

From college textbooks to books you read at your leisure, being able to get a book instantly is definitely a lot easier than having to go out to the store and buy your next book.

Being able to download a book on your device and get it instantly is extremely convenient. You have millions of books at your fingertips, and much cheaper prices to top it all off.

Although eBooks may catch our youths attention and make books more accessible than ever, they may result in anything but attentive reading.

Jonathan Patten, a student at La Salle University says eBooks are "a godsend" and goes on to explain "You don't have to sift through pages and pages of material."
