Rubbish Effect On Sea Life

When people throw rubbish or when it falls off the back of the rubbish truck it goes down the drain, then to the rivers, and finally it goes into the ocean. While the rubbish is in the water the animals such as turtles mistake it for jellyfish and eat it. When the sun shines on the plastic it breaks down into small pieces and the plankton's eat it. It is also bad for Blue Whales because they eat plankton's.

Our Learning With Tamaki Wrap

Today we had the opportunity to explore more about rubbish with Tamaki Wrap. With Tamaki Wrap we learnt a lot about where our rubbish goes and how we can reduce our use of plastic. The thing that shocked me the most was that the U.S.A. have been sending their rubbish to Asia and getting under paid workers to pick out things that can be melted to be recycled. We did four activities to develop our understanding. The first activity

Landfills Of The Ocean

The Impact Our Rubbish Has On Animals Habitats.

The ocean currently has five gyres which are located in the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic oceans. Gyre's are created by three major forces, the global wind patterns, earths landmasses, and the earth rotation. Scientist have predicted that there will be 40x more rubbish than fish in the ocean in 2050.

I don't think you know that there are five different gyres around the world. A gyre is a patch of rubbish bbbfvvv

Rubbish effects ecosystems, and has a huge impact on global warming, but what else is effected by our decisions is animal habitats. Pollution effects marine animals because things that we discard of by throwing away includes chemicals. Chemicals poison the ocean which kills marine life. Though marine life has a more severe effect, land animals lives are at risk to. The biggest threat for land animals are things like habitat destruction, fires and illegal poaching.
