Computer Software:

YOUTUBE

Youtube was a brilliant software to use when wanting to research and view music videos for inspiration for my own video. Additionally, I found it exceptionally helpful when researching for videos that showed the behind the scenes whereby they showacased the set up and filming technique for how directors filmed dance sequences. I was particularly interested in this as I knew that our video would consist of a dance sequence so we wanted to research into this, in order to make sure that we filmed our scenes effectively.

Additionally, I created a Youtube account in order to upload my videos including the rough cut of our music video, the final cut, audience research videos, bloopers, behind the scenes and so on. By creating a Youtube account it brought me more views as the video was made public for anyone to watch and people who already had an account were able to comment on the videos. I realise now that my videos, specifically my music video are officially online, being able to be searched for and shared over different networks.

Evaluation 4:

"How did you use new media

technologies in the construction and

research, planning and evaluation stages?"

Showcased below are the physical pieces of

technology and camera equipment that I used

to created and edit my video and ancillary tasks on.

Blogger enabled me to upload all of my digital work, including feedback, research and planning. By using this software it allows you to display and produce your work in a creative and unique way and it's your chance to show off the work you've produced using many of the other different softwares and technologies such as 'prezi' and 'vevox.'

Light Reflector

Apple iMac, (Mac OS X)

2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

facebook really helped us in promoting our music video and enabled us to interact with others, allowing them to watch our video and comment on it, telling us what they liked about it and what could be improved with it. Overall, we recevied exceptionally good feedback with people saying they loved the video!! The feedback we received on feedback can be collected through comments by other users and friends and the number of 'likes' we recieved for the video.

Canon Legria HF S100

full HD (1080p) camcorder.

This HD camera allowed me to shoot in HD (high definition) providing me with high quality shots and footage. Once uploading the footage onto the 'Apple iMac' I was then able to upload our final music video to 'Youtube' where it allowed my video to be played in HD.

PHOTOSHOP

SAFARI INTERNET

If photoshop wasn't available for us to use we would have struggled hugely in creating our ancillary tasks, as photoshop is a great and sufficient software to use in that it allows you to accurately layer images on top of each other, contrast colours together and select different paintbrush and pen tools. One thing that I learnt from using photoshop which I didn't realise before is that you can import and mix your own colours together when wanting to apply this to ready made pictures and texts that you have created yourself. Before starting my A2 year, I had absolutely no clue about how to use photoshop but within a few months I have become more confident when using the software and have learnt so many new skills thanks to merely playing around with tools and images on the software.

By using 'safari internet' it allowed me to collect research, audience research, audience feedback, create online presentations and create photograph collages. However, if it wasn't for the internet and these softwares it would have made it impossible for me to display my digital work on blogger.

FINAL CUT EXPRESS

The editing software which I used which was already installed on the 'Apple iMac' computer was called 'FInal Cut Express.' I have increased my knowledge and skills on Final Cut over the two year media course that I undertook. In AS level, Khushel and I worked together in editing our 'thriller sequence' and in A2 we worked together again in order to edit and create our music video. Final Cut Express is can be quite a complicated software to use, but once you familiarise yourself with it, it definitely becomes easier. For instance, we got to create practice editing videos using pre-edited audio and clips.

TWITTER

Being able to use twitter was brilliant as I was

able to see trending topics, and allowed me to search

for specific results whereby people had tweeted messages and comments related to the 'R&B' genre.

I was also able to 'tweet' friends asking

them what they thought of my music video, and also

decided to tweet the link to the original singer of 'Hate This Part' - "Nicole Scherzinger." Sadly I didn't recieve a reply...but was worth a shot!

I also displayed the video on my profile so people could immediately click onto my twitter page and view the video from there, leaving comments behind if they wanted to.
