Cryosphere

The cryosphere is not its own sphere. To be exact is it a sub-sphere of the hydrosphere.

This is made of a portion of the earths water that is locked into ice form.

Hydrosphere

The water cycle drives the worlds weather

The fresh water is broken up into three major groups,

Combined mass of water on, over, and under the surface of the planet.

  • Surface Water
  • Groundwater
  • Glaciers

The following are all examples of what the cryosphere is made of

Accumulation

Frozen Ground

Permafrost

Sea Ice

Ice

Accumulation is where the source of water is. This is a body of water such as a ocean, lake, river etc.

Snow

Lake Ice

Glacial Ice

River Ice

Run-Off/Aquifers

Evaporation

Run Off and aquifers are formed by the precipitation.

Run offs are caused by the melting of snow or the movement of rainwater.

Aquifers are the material in which groundwater moves through.

The water is warmed by the sun causing it to evaporate back into the atmosphere.

Water Cycle

Precipitation

Condensation

This is when the water droplets in the clouds form into various types of precipitation like rain, snow etc.

This is when the water vapor from evaporation forms into water droplets that form the clouds.
