Effectiveness in Persuasion

Hmm, Facebook successful?

Well lets look at the facts..

I'd say yes..

The Artwork of the Designers

When the networking sites compete with eachother, each site finds more ways to users on their site or app longer, the intended effects keep users off other sites.

Also, when social networking sites let users communicate with people all over the world through a suttle liking system, it effects the consumers behavior and desire for fame

'I just to be more "liked"'

Ethical Concerns

Rhetor Exigence

Cyber bullying- The more time kids these days spend on these sticky sites, the more problems have been introduced to our next generations. Cyber bullying is a perfect example of out of hand networking.

Free Marketing- Companies use consumers for a free marketing tactic. Are these consumers being tricked? What are they getting out of it?

Lack of Productivity- With record highs in the amount of time the average person spends time on social networking are we limiting our future generations from what should be getting done? Is social networking a step forward or really just two steps backwards.

Good or Bad?

-The social networking companies are looking for power and money from their users.

-They make their sites so "sticky" for these things entirely.

-Social networking sites constantly compete with each other so they always try to find new ways to keep users on their apps without having to switch over.

-The power is sourced through popularity.

-The money is sourced through the downloads, users, and ads used.

-All social networking sites have this in common.

CONNECTING AS ALWAYS

Reaching The Audience

-Today, teens especially are obsessed with this idea of "social currency". They would do anything for the desire to be liked. Even if it means revising their profiles and editing pictures for HOURS.

-Social networking sites benefit from these people the most.

-Also today we focus a lot on material goods, so we love ads. And networking sites love ads too, cause they get paid for what we buy. Funny how that works.

-The more ways and opportunities there are to share things, and get their own things out there the longer the users will remain on the site and interested.

The Need to be #instafamous

Examination of Tactics

Attractions to users just from the home page:

1.)The faces in the background- makes one see how easy it would be to be in connect with family, friends and people all around the world.

2.)At the bottom, "Stay in Touch.." - These three categories catch the eye of those that are hesitant of the company itself.

3.)The simplicity of signing up- This appeals to the busy middle class user that doesn't want to spend "too much time" on social sites.

The reason the log in page has to catch so much attention is to show how much the site has to offer in a short period of time and how unconnected one is without this.
