Who and What

A video tribute to a great man.

Herb Carnegie was born in Toronto to parents who came from Jamaica. He grew up in Willodale, Ontario, also considered a part of North York.

He first developed a love for hockey at the age of 8. He often listened to NHL games on the radio when he was very young. He first learned to skate by borrowing a pair of skates from his brother.

Herb Carnegie 1919-2012

Herb Carnegie was probably one of the

most famous players of his time to never

make it into the NHL.

This small tribute serves as a model for

your Prezi and a window into the life of a

special man.

This sample Prezi is not based on a great deal of research done by Mr. Proudfoot, but only on the information provided from: http://www.whoswhoinblackcanada.com/2012/03/15/herbert-carnegie/

Future Aces Program

On his birthday In 2011, Herb Carnegie said, in a Toronto Star interview, "i will develop a positive attitude all people and my work."

These words formed the foundation of the Future Aces program. He began this program, in part, as a response to the racism he felt as a Hockey player. When he was denied the opportunity to have the opportunity to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was not consumed by his anger. Herb Carnegie had a vision of how he thought people should treat one another.
