Music Video Pitch
Our music video embodies
a typical female teenager
who has a lot of self related
issues and is very conscious
about her appearance, whilst
she is struggling with her
problems she is also in the
presence of a guardian angel
(the singer.)
Group 27 will be
producing a music
video to Jessie J's -
Who You Are video.
Jessie J's Video
- Main focus is on the artist.
- Light soft colours of the bedroom makes it seem peaceful and calm.
- The rain may imply that she is
'washing away' her past.
3 main camera shots
Our Music Video
also scenes from streets too.
- The actresses clothing will
be normal, the singer will be
slighty more dressed.
- The actress eventually leaves
her house which symbolises
her breaking free of all her pain.
- Variety of different camera
shots/angles.
Introducing our artist...
Emz
Adele
The reason as to why
Emz is similar to Adele is
because Adele isn't too
fussed about her appearance
as she says "I make music for the ears, not the eyes..."
Brand Image
Sings about the truth.
Helpful and does a lot
charity work to aid others.
Fashionista
Friendly
Clothes
This is one of many outfits that Emz will be wearing in the music video. It is casual with the polkadot cardigan and chino trousers but is turned into smart clothing
with the black heels.
Emz will wear
these types of clothing which will symbolise in the video who is the main person in the music video.
EXISTING VIDEOS THAT
CONTRIBUTED
Ludacris - Runaway Love
- Ludacris' music video is one of the main videos that has inspired us as a group in terms of the ideas around editing.
- It's a song about real life issues that people are facing as we speak (like ours)
- The actors are 'centre of attention' and focused on more, so when the artists are shown it has a better effect.
- We plan to show our artist mostly in the chorus with glimpses of her during the verses
Christina Aguilera - Beautiful
- contains alot of slow motion editing
- this is effective as it follows the pace of the music
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
- the video shows couples at different stages of their relationships with their own problems
- we plan to show one girl with several problems (may be illustrated in our three verses, or they may just be shown throughout the video)
- Leona is also shown in her own room alot which is where ours will be based
Adele - Someone Like You
- the transitions (especially fades) in this video again work well with the pace of the song
- images overlapping each other also have a strong effect as they show two things happening at once
Our audience is anybody who knows what good music is
To be more specific meet ... Deavian
- as you all know Goodwin argues that 'pop videos' don't tend to follow the traditional narrative analysis of the (normality-problem-resolution) scenario
- our audience are not interested in a music video practically re-telling the story
- direct address will occur from our artist making the viewers feel more involved
- our music video will be under
his 'amplification' category
- we don't feel we need a motif because it wouldn't fit the image
- but if we were to add one it would probably be something like the artist reaching out to touch the actress at the end of each chorus
- repetition will also occur when the artist is shown during the choruses
What record label will our artist be signed to?
- Mercury Records and Interscope Records (like Pixie Lott)
- A similar artist would be Pixie Lott. Her songs are about love and breakups and are generally aimed at a female young teenage audience.
- This song would be a chart song, something you’d see on UK’s Top 40 songs. Available to buy online and in shops as our artist would be popular.
- Our artist would be signed to a major record label, but an English one. Not a huge American label but a huge English one, and our artist (like Pixie Lott) would only be popular in the UK not worldwide.
Location
We have decided to film our music video in Emily’s bedroom.
In our animatic you can see the large percentage of the music video will be shot in the actress’ bedroom.
Then in the last verse/chorus the actress will go outside to represent her breaking away from her insecurities.
So our locations will be the bedroom and the street outside. The street will probably be a busy London street.
Never leave the camera unattended
Always get equipment with other people this is to prevent getting robbed
Always leave contact details with your teacher so that they know where you are
Make sure the camera is placed correctly on the tripod to prevent it from falling
Mirror, bed, hair brush, perfume bottles make-up ect..
We want the artist to be dressed 'classy' but simple and the girl to be dressed very ordinary like a teenage girl.
