Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product?

Our use of both lighting giving the scene a bright feel while keeping it naturalistic improves the feel of it being a real place and give a sense of normality. the framing we used was given to have the effect to show a POV from the envelope. Both the body language and facial expression are used well compared to a half done version in my pre-lim. His facial expression is used to built suspense where as the pre-lim had a blank with barely any believable expressions.

My use and understanding of match on action has vastly improved, in the preliminary task i had a basic understanding of match on action and used it because it had to be used. Now I feel I can used match on action and other techniques like the 180 degree rule in certain places and to create a particular affect towards the audience and there reactions.

Our use of Titling has improved greatly giving the titling a clean and professional look where as in the pre-lim the titling was just put there and coexist with the film itself.

our titling is also use to create a slower pace having fades to cross to the next shot, they also have a longer shot time also helping give a slow pace because our thriller has a slow pace that builds suspense like "Taken".

our close use of framing to ensure we keep the setting as believable as possible. also our use of costume is much better than before even though in my pre-lim the costumes were quite relevant.

Our time in our thriller has also been carefully chosen for effect instead with the preliminary task when it was done at the most convenient time.

The framing and prop use of this piece much better than how i used it in my preliminary, you can see there is no blank space as we have fixed the framing to cut the edges off the phone, Also you can see a shadow of another background prop and a light, where as in the pre-lim task i had difficulty masking what i didn't want.

I have improved my lighting skills using a low key lighting style for a mysterious effect, also have framed this shot well hiding what we didn't want and revealing only what we wanted.

My prop use and costume has also improved showing an office style setting with envelopes which are relevant to our narrative.

In this part of the opening I feel I improved both my framing and light skills. I now have a better understanding and use of ECU and how they are used for effect. The lighting in this part is of low key lighting and feel like that has improved from the preliminary task because i now use different styles of lighting for effect. Our use of low key lighting was used to give the feel that the scene is very secret and mysterious. The low key has been used because we needed a darkened scene but still needed some light to create a natural and clear effect.

My use of camera work has vastly improved, the framing of the shots has seen much improvement. the framing of the preliminary task was very poor and now the framing that we have is near perfect and if it has been done it has reason. my understanding and use of continuity editing has improved since my as well as my sound editing. i have improved on my knowledge on how to create a well placed plot piece and character.
