Hello, everyone.

My name is Nastya.

I’m thirteen years old.

Let me introduce my world.

Now let me introduce my native town.

I was born in Buguruslan, the Orenburg region, Russia. Buguruslan is a small quiet town near the Ural Mountains that divide Russia into Europe and Asia.

You won't find any magnificent sights here, still it's a lovely place with its own history.

My Dad's name is Alexander. He is 40 years old. He is an oilman and a deputy manager in a big oil company. He is devoted to us, and we are never far from his mind. He always has time for us – mummy, my sister Sashulya and me Nastyulya.

My Mum's name is Julia. She is in her mid thirties. She works with my father. Actually he is her boss :-) She is a real beauty with long blond hair and light blue eyes. She is very kind and always cares about us. For me she is not just my mother but my producer as well who helps me realize my talents.

I am happy to have a 5-year-old sister named just like my father Alexandra. But we call her Sashulya for short. She took after our granny: she tends to be quite bossy and self-willed. At the same time she can be very caring and sweet. She looks like a tasty cake as she is a bit plump.

When I look at myself in the mirror, I can see a pretty girl with long straight blond hair and grey eyes. I’m not very tall but I’m slim.

They say that appearance is deceitful. On the other hand, I’ve read that the shape of a person’s lips can say a lot about his or her personality. Suppose it’s true, then with my full lips I’m usually responsible so you can trust me. I’m also decisive and make decisions quickly. However, I tend to be rather bossy. Indeed, at times I like telling people what to do. But I’m trying to control myself.

I try to be friendly with everyone and as a result I've got a lot of friends. Many of them are from Moscow, Samara, St. Petersburg, even from the Ukraine. Together we meet when travelling and spending holidays in a camp.

Also I've got some good friends at school. Together we study, take part in different competitions and do school projects in a team. On holidays such as Christmas, Halloween, we have fancy parties where we invite our parents.

Other my friends are the children of my parents' friends. Sometimes they visit us or we visit them. Then we play outdoor games or watch cartoons and just enjoy ourselves.

It’s always interesting to know what other people think about you. So, let's find out what my teachers, friends and parents think about me.

My teachers praise me for creative way of thinking and studying. At the same time, I’m often criticized for distracting myself and others during the lesson.

My parents keep telling me that I should express my thoughts more clearly and straightforward.

As for my friends, they admit my talents and are happy about my success. But I’m often said that I’m overactive and noisy in a way that makes them tired of me. I hope I’ll become more balanced when I’m older.

Another interest of mine is learning English. I like taking part in distant contests in English. It is not just a way to get one more certificate, but an excellent opportunity to discover something new and interesting. For example, this very contest “INDIGO” has developed my imagination and creativity. It made me think about my dream and sense in life. What’s more I’ve learnt about on-line presentation Prezi which I’ve used to present what you can see at the moment.

What makes me feel really proud of myself is my participation in the conference of students’ project and research work called “Steps in Science” which took place Moscow in May 2013. There I presented my project work on music in England called “Music Treasure of England” for which I was awarded with the medal of the best performance in the section. It was an unforgettable experience.

At the conference I met a guy from Brazil called Diego. He was one of the organizers. After my singing he came up to me and said:

- Hello! You are Nastya, aren't you?

- Right. Why?

- I'm Diego. I saw you sing on the stage. It was very nice.

- Nice to meet you, Diego. I'm pleased.

- I suppose it's not the first time you've performed in public, is it?

- Yes, it is. I've been singing since I was a child. But I've got a lot to learn.

- May be you are right. But you seem quite experienced.

- I'm only studying. I go to music school where I learn playing the piano and exercise the voice in singing.

- I see. And apart from music school, do you sing on concerts?

- Yes, I'm often invited to sing at our town festivals and in other cities, like Samara. Every month I've got to perform at least once or twice. During holidays it happens more often.

- What do you like doing for fun I wonder?

- Well, I like singing popular songs with my friends.

- Do you have your favorite kind of music or singer?

- No, I can't say I have. But I like an Australian singer Lenka. I can show you my video where I'm singing her song "Everything At Once" dancing with my friends. Do you wanna have a look?

- I'd love to.

- Here it is. Look.

- Wow. It's very nice. By the way, what does it feel like to stand on the stage and look at the audience staring at you?

- Oh, I think I'll never get used to it. It's always like the first time I have to sing in front of the audience. Each time I feel very nervous.

- I would never say that you are nervous. You look quite confident. I wish you good luck in your future.

- Thank you. It's been nice talking to you.

- It's been my pleasure. Have a nice day!

- See you around.

My Achievements

I’m doing well at school and I’ve got a lot of rewards. I’m very fond of singing and I often take part in different concerts and festivals. As a result, I’ve got many awards for singing.

My Dream

My Personality

As a famous American composer Leonard Bernstein once said "Music can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable." Unless you sing yourself, you can’t know how wonderful it is. I’m overjoyed that I can sing and I’d like to share the joy with everybody around who needs it.

I have a dream that one day my voice could save one’s life. I mean there are a lot of people around who need hope, support, encouragement, understanding or just sympathy. Sometimes we lack words to express the way we feel, but music can help us.

The Way I Look

I can’t imagine living like most teenagers who are at the best busy with their study or just goofing around. I need to have something besides school to devote myself to! I don’t want to have lived in vain. I want to go on living even after my death! And that’s why I’m so grateful to God for having given me this gift, which I can use to develop myself and to express all that’s inside me to bring others joy, peace and happiness!

My Family

My grandmother is called Tamara. She is 65 years old and she lives with my grandfather in a detached house in our town. It's a big house they built together themselves. She is a pensioner now but she is quite active and always ready to help us. When mum's too busy at work, she cooks meals for us, helps about the house, looks after my little sister, plays with her and teaches how to count, read and write. I love my granny very much and can't imagine our life without her.

My Mummy

There are four of us in my family: my dad, my mum, me and my little sister. Also I've got four grandparents.
