AS MEDIA EVALUATION

The last image was my music magazine front cover. As you can see I made the title of the magazine bright and colourful and the background black so it stands out. On the other magazines they have the images big so they stand out, I incorpreted this onto my front cover. I included a barcode and price to make it look realistic.

For my contents page I took inspiration from vobe contents page, I like the way its very simple but still very effective. On mine I have made it simple but with all the information it needs. I also put the 'contents page' in different colours just like the name of the magazine.

I found the double page spread the easiest out the three because I enjoy writing and new I wanted to do interview type of spread with an image on the other side. I used the spread to promote the artists new album. I got some inspiration from the top of the pops double page spread on the wanted.

The audience for my pop music magazine would be people who like to listen to the pop type of music and enjoy the type of bands and artists my magazine has to offer. Also there is issue number so people could be collecting the issues and this would be a possible audience.

I attracted and addressed my audience by creating a blog which I updated every few days to let my audience know how far I am from completing my magazine and how I got there. I addressed my audience by using the big image on the front of my magazine, the artist is hiding his face and this will intrigue people and want them to read my magazine, Over the course I have looked at other pop and hip hop music magazines to help me. In my magazine I have included a price, issue number and exclusive interviews inside which makes it look very realistic and meets all the custom needs.

The things I have learned about technologies while doing this course are how to use photoshop, blogger, google documents and how to create a prezi. I found using photoshop really difficuilt but the more I used it the more i understood it. For example I created layers and how to use the magic want tool. As you can see by the image on the front cover I have contrasted colours in the background to make the image stand out even more. On my blogger I had never used it before and my knowledge increased. I inserted a questionnaire, and screen shots of the results. I also made mine individual and changed the colours and writing for them to suit me and make them stand out. Also someone I do not know commented on my questionnaire results which I found helpful. I have also learned about camera;s and the angles, for example I have used a medium shot on my magazine front cover.

The kind of media insitutuions that will distribute my media product are the likes of EMPA who publish the music magazine Smash Hits which is the same genre as my magazine, pop. I also think Bauer Media Group would too, they publish the likes of Kerrang, Q and MOJO, I think this because mine is dark with colours that stand out and also it would be different for them.

In my media music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread i have taken idea's from old and current pop music magazines such as smash hits, vibe, sugar and top of the pops. I used bright mulitcolours on a dark (black) background. By using a black background I believe I have contrasted from the other pop magazines which was a gamble, but my magazine stands out.

I decided to produce my music magazine using the pop genre, I enjoy listening to this music and was a difference to what people in my class were using. I also thought that pop is more exciting and I would enjoy designing a music magazine on it. Here are some images of people on the genre I have chosen.
