-We all have them.

-We use them all the time.

-We can use them quickly and efficiently.

-They let us be more in our element.

•You take a fish out of water, its element, and it can't function right. Take away our technology, our element, and we don't function right either.

We're capable of a lot, when we're given the right tools!

That's believable right?

Why is this such a scary thought to some of our DINOSAUR teachers and BAUERLEIN himself?

They don't know to use them.

When I say they don't know how, I don't just mean that they can't fire off 6 texts in 30 seconds, check their email, and update their Facebook and Twitter.

Bauerlein probably has a heart attack every time this is mentioned.

He wouldn't even give this thought a chance.

Our teachers, on the other hand (who actually care about us), just can't figure out how to incorporate them into everyday classroom use!

Guess what.

Imagine:

You play a video or podcast in class.

You give the class 3 questions to think about while they watch or listen.

Now you open up a Wiffitti board, and tell them to text in their thoughts as they have them.

I'm willing to bet we can get the text off faster than we could just write them down.

Not only is this quicker, but everyone can see the ideas as they are sent.

Plus, this way, students can not only add their own thoughts, but they can add to others thoughts too.

Also, students can create an account, and have a personalized username, or they'll be assigned one when they send their text, and the comments can be annonymous, which is good for getting the quiet or shy students to participate.

Not only do the posts repeat in a continuous loop,

but the teacher, as the creator of the board, can see a

list of the posts as they come in.
