VOLCANOES!!!

There are three different types of magma. The three types of magma are Basalt magma, Andesite magma, and Rhyolite magma. Basalt magma is a thin flowing lava. This thin flowing lava forms a shield. Andesite is a flowing magma and has a high probablity to explode. Rhyolite is a magma that is guaranteed to explode. The lava flows when there isn't much gas left in the magma. Magma is extremly hot. Magma can melt rocks, and when rocks melt, it creates gas.

What makes a volcano extreme?

George studied all different extreme environments. One of them is volcanoes.

He was the first person to ever film the inside of a volcano.

In 2005, George was lowered 60 feet into a smoking active volcano , while filming it.He has been doing this for more than 10 years now.

Types of Volcanoes

God is powerful and he show it in volcanoes. Volcanoes are amazing in all different ways. One way is when a volcano erupts the lava can go very high.

Another way is how there are so many volcanoes in the world. In the "The Ring of Fire"alone, there are 452 volcanoes that means there are a lot of volcanoes in the world. The other way is that there are volcanoes all over, even in space. The biggest volcano in space is on Mars. There are other ways of God's powerfulness but these are just few of them.

  • Heat from the core of the earth melts the rock to magma.
  • A volcano is a place where the earth crust is weak or holes or cracks and volcanoes appear.
  • The most active volcano is in Hawaii it is Mt. Kilaue.
  • The scientists that study volcanoes are called volcanologists.
  • The word volcano comes from the word vulcan which is from Russia.
  • Some technolegy that volcanologists use to explore volcanoes are robots.

The eruption of a volcano may be dangerous but is still interesting.

A volcano erupts when the pressure of lava deep inside the volcano

gets so high that it pushes its way to the surface.

The explosion of the volcano causes temporary global warming.

After a volcano erupts, the lava cools down.

Every eruption the volcano has, the volcano gets bigger and bigger.

The volcano gets bigger because the lava cools on the crater and forms another layer. Every layer that is added to the sides of the volcano, adds up to show the age of each volcano thats how the volcano gets wider.

Thanks for watching my presentation on volcanoes!

Magma

What is magma and what are the different types?

Canadian Connections

What Canadian studied volcanoes?

George Kourounis is a storm chaser, and he studied volcanoes.

What did I learn about God.

How does a volcano erupt and what happens to the volcano after the eruption?

How many types of Volcanoes are there, and which is the largest one?

There are three types of volcanoes.

One of them is inactive. A inactive volcano means it will not erupt. There are also dormat volcanoes, this means it hasn't erupted in a while but still can.

The third kind is a active volcano, which erupts over and over.

The largest active volcano is Mauna Loa in Hawaii.

Facts

This is what the core of the earth looks like.

Extreme Enivonment

A volcano is extreme because of its temperature.

Lava's temperature can reach up to 1,250 celsius.

The normal temperature for lava is around 750 celsius.

The gases are extreme because they are life threatening and you don't want to breathe them in as you could die.
