Step 6: Encoding

After your editing is done you

can now convert your file to MP3.

BUT still don't use the LAME MP3

encoder. The quality is not as good

and may skip!

Instead you can use iTunes!

Step 7: Tagging MP3's

This is an important step!

If you plan to post your

Podcast to iTunes you will

want to have your show labeled.

An episode thats unlabeld will

not be easy to find in iTunes!

Step 8: Posting

Podcast can be posted many ways. I would recommend keeping your podcast seperate from your website files. High bandwith can take down a site and podcast take up alot!

Wordpress is my favorite ways to publish a podcast!

Plugins Further simplify the process!

it sure helps make it easy to subscribe!

Twitter to spread the word about your

podcast!

All the steps in podcasting!

Cliff Ravenscraft started out

podcasting about the TV show

"LOST" in 2005 and quickly built

the GSPN.TV network which now

Type Feedburner Feed here!

Podcasting in 12 Easy Steps

Step 9: RSS Feeds

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication!"

Feedburner is easy and fast!

Step 1: Mics

Pulling RSS feeds into Feedburner

are easier to change! If you ever have

to change podcast host all you have to do is change it in Feedburner instead of going back into every past podcast and updating the old feeds.

Technically any microphone will do to get you started.

2 Types of Mics

Condenser and Dynamic

Avoid buying Snowballs!

The Snowball Mic from BLUE is a Condensor microphone that sells for about $67 on Amazon. The reason I would avoid buying it is because it uses USB and you can not use multiple USB mics on the same computer. If you want to have multiple host or record interviews the USB may become a problem in the future. Also for the price you pay for the Snowball you coud but an small Mixer and mic.

If your just starting off and have

a limited budget then you'll probably

have no choice but to record into a

sound recording program like Audacity

and Garageband. But keep in mind that

software is not perfect and can crash

at the worst times.

Audacity: Save edited files back into

the original format. i.e. WAV

DO NOT TRANSCODE TO MP3 USING THE LAME

ENCODER!!!

Headphones are personal and should

fit the users head well. Find a pair

that fits well so you don't have to

keep adjusting them during recording!

You'll loose alot of the quality

during transcoding!
