List of Occupations
1) A lot of the qualifications are coming from the private industry and thus it gives false pretentions that it covers both public and private;
2) There isn’t a geographical balance as the qualifications from Switzerland are dominant;
3) The group does not feel that they are capable to take an objective decision behind the relevance of these Qualifications in the industry as they do not know most of them; As such they are uncomfortable giving subjective views;
4) On operational level, the group suggested that it should be connected to the whole ECVET.
5) The reality of the industry is that even you have a qualification; people still need to have in house training and certification before they start to operate in a particular occupation.
6) The Group has asked whether there was the Involvement of the industry in the compilation of this list. The Group does not feel comfortable in deciding qualifications for occupations which generally is decided by employers themselves.
7) The group queried the sources of these Qualifications and how were they chosen since there are some qualifications from MS that have been left out?
8) Some Qualifications are indeed modules from a longer training course, which should not be considered as qualifications.
9) The Group finally suggested to choose from National qualifications by established EQF levels? Ex: Chef requires a certain EQF level qualification etc…
10) Lastly the Group needs a way forward how to deal with Qualifications in order to be able to finalise everything in the last meeting.
The SREF is still reviewing the OCC definitions (by end of September)
No new data
OCC profiles by November (only a handful are final at this stage)
OCC profiles work triggered review of OCC definitions
Rework due to CTC upload in Fishery
Slow pace: risk of delay. SREF indicated subgroup responsibles to split up work
Dealing with sectoral overlaps
Primary qualifications for veterinarians in the EU are currently awarded by the national awarding bodies
These qualifications are regarded as equivalent through the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications Directive. However there is no official system in place to assure that these qualifications are equivalent
Harmonized rules covering the training standards and the award of qualifications for non-veterinarians (such as technicians) do not exist and so are dealt with at national level within each Member State
There is no list of training providers and awarding bodies which are authorized at EU level
Work is in progress to obtain official recognition for European- wide, post-graduate, veterinary qualifications
Conclusion: it would not be appropriate or helpful to publish a list of qualifications which will provide inaccurate or incomplete information.
