Chicks are active as soon as they hatch.

They stand about ten inches tall and they have fluffy feathers.

A mature Emu is 5 to 6 1/2 feet tall.

A family of emus is called a mob.

They can live together for up to 18 months.

Part Three: Nesting

The male emu sits on the eggs for up to eight weeks to keep the eggs warm.
