Treatment for 'Set off' Hey Monday video production
What song have we picked?
After MUCH indecision, we decided to go for Hey Monday's 'Set off'. As well as being a catchy tune, it's fast paced, providing good editing prospects.
So what's the idea?
Following conventions of pop/soft rock videos, we thought we'd center the video on symbolic imagery and performance.
The idea was to have three to four settings.
The outset of the video will be set in Canary Wharf at night, amplifying the lyrics that mention 'Darkness'. After that the settings and cutaways will be based in Crystal Palace Park and One Tree Hill in Honor Oak.
The fourth setting will be a studio in keeping with conventions, where the performance will be based. We plan to use either the drama studio at Dulwich or Crystal Palace.
What's still to be decided?
The only thing to be decided is whether or not a studio shot will begin the video, before the Canary Wharf shooting.
With regards to editing, we plan to use close ups of both the protagonist and instruments , conforming to conventions, and some special effects and cuts via Final Cut.
