Check it out!!

We decided to stop our observations once the birds looked big enough to find their way out of the nest!

Bird Family #2

While we never saw the momma of bird family #1, momma of #2 was FIESTY!!! She let us know that she was watching us!!

This nest of eggs did not resemble bluebird eggs but seemed more similar to the eggs of a chickadee.

Knock Knock!!

Bird family #1

We had hoped to have blue bird

families in all of our houses...........

We think that these eggs were bluebird eggs.

1. Typically a female bluebird will lay 1-2 eggs per day for about 5 days in a row.

2. During a week of observations we saw the eggs increase from 1 egg on Day 1, to 5 eggs on day 5.

3. The eggs were light blue in color and resembled what we knew to be bluebird eggs.

However...........

Only 2 of the 5 houses were occupied:(

In the beginning......

We received help and guidance from Mr. Randy. He works for The Center for Human-Earth Restoration. He built all of the bluebird houses and then came to speak to all of us about how to care for and observe them.
