Props
I'm not really using a lot of props in my video due to the fact that I want it to be kept simple and effective.
I'm going to use the microphone as pasrt of the set when the performer is singing on stage. This creates the image that she is performing to an audience at a concert. I'm also going to use it in the bedroom, not necessarily being used, but just in the background to add to the mise-en-scene. This will create the image that performing is a big part of her life.
This prop fits in well with the lyric "brushing my hair do I look perfect?" and I want the performer to throw the brush at the wall/floor. This is to emphasise that she's fed up of trying to look perfect.
For the lyric "I forgot what to do to fit the mould" I want another person to walk across a cat-walk like platform, portraying a stereotypical image of a model. For this part of the video, I want paparazzi to be following the model, taking pictures. I will also use the paparazzi to follow her as she walks away from the camera at the end of the video, showing the audience she is famous and can't get away from that, and that she isn't going to change for anyone.
I'm going to use this in some of the shots outside. I've chosen to do this for a couple of reasons. One reason is because the mood of the video is quite low and almost depressing. Rain holds these connotations, so it's quite appropriate for it to rain in my video. The second reason is that because of the time of year that I'm filming, it does rain quite a lot. So incorporating the umbrella into my video means that the weather wont affect when I can film too much.
