Conclusively, The Assassination Of Sadi Carnot Led To Social And Political Turmoil Within The Republic Of France Until Justice Was Served By The Execution Of Santo. Sympathies Were Given To France From All Over Europe. With An Enraged Population, France Came Together For The Execution Of Santo And The Restoration Of The French State. The Italian Fascist Accomplished Little In The Assassination, But Did Manage To Effectively Through France Into A Period Of Political Turmoil From Which They Fairly Recovered From Due To The Policies Set Forth By Carnot. Furthermore, The Death of Marie Carnot Caused A Brief Uproar In Outrage By The French People In Addition To Slowing Down French Development In The 19th Century. This Assassination Is Remembered By The French The Most, For Carnot Represented The Voice Of The Common People, And When Assassinated They Lost That Voice.

Two Months After The Eventful Assassination, Sante Geronimo Caserio Was Put To Execution After Being In Prison Since The Day Of The Event. On This Day Santo Was Escorted To The Site Of the Guillotine In Lyons, The Location Of Which Carot Was Assassinated, Where He Was Condemned To Execution By The Guillotine.

Motives For Assassination

Suspected Motives Of Sante Geronimo Caserio: Was Avenging Fallen Anarchists (Emile Henry And August Valiant) Executed A Month Prior To Event, Also Thought To Have Been On A Mission From Italy To Engender Chaos Within France. The Assassination Was Successful Though It Has Cost Him His Life Along With Carnot's And The Peace Of France.

After Being Stabbed, Carnot Went Into An Unconscious State. After Coming To With Doctors Probing The Wound He Exclaimed "How You Are Hurting Me." After Being Given His Death Rites By The Archbishop Of Lyons, He Expired Sending The Population Of Lyons To Act In Outrage Nearly Lynching Santo Before The Police Could Take Him Away. Despite The Struggle Carnot Had While In Office, He Had Been A Rather Popular, Decent President.

Details Of Assassination

On June 24 In Lyons, France , Giovanni Santo Ran Through The Streets At President Sadi Carnot After A Meeting In The Palace Of Commerce In Lyons. Santo Stabbed Carnot Carnot In The Liver Area (Otago Witness). Shortly After The Stabbing, Santo Was Jailed Leaving Carnot Fatally Wounded And Due To Death. Carnot Died A Day Later On June 25, Due To A Lack Of Sufficient Medical Technology.
