The narrative of our film/OTS is going to be told from the perspective of the main character - a teenage girl. She is the one who gets killed. The OTS will be seeing her while she is dead, while a mysterious man looks down at her from his window. The rest of the story will be the retelling of her life and death.
Costumes: typical 1940s dress code; for the girl, a nightdress, hair in curlers, distinctive make-up (red lips). (Man has dressed her this way) For the man; a dressing gown or pyjamas to show what time it is.
Lighting: shadows, dark, smoke, silhouettes.
The "stalker" will not be the anti-hero, which is why we are breaking conventions. We are also breaking conventions by not having the typical film noir characters such as femme fatale and anti-hero. The girl will be the protagonist, a good femme fatale, in a way. These are the only two characters in the OTS, but not in the rest of the film.
Framing - through window
Over the shoulder - from behind the man
Close-up - of the girl's eyes
Wide shot/mid shot - of the girl from the tree (silhouette only)
Our target audience will most probably be for teenagers. We are modernising our film noir although it will still be set in modern times, it might appeal more to a teenage audience because the main character [name: Elizabeth] will be about 16, so they might be able to relate more, unlike if the main character was 60, which they might not be able to relate to. Our target audience gender is more likely to be female because the main character is female. However some boys might like to go and see it because they like the horror parts to it.
Creaking of rocking chair; thunder; wind; heavy breathing; background music (slow, building up tension)
Action match - shows her eyes closed then she opens them
