However, the modern definition of Remix culture goes beyond changing old ideas.
In today's world, creation and publication have never been easier.
But...
A remix is simply something that takes an idea or concept and augments or changes such an idea.
This change could be for better or for worse.
Where copyright law was once mainly exercised on corporations. Such laws were meant to protect rather than impede individual creativity.
Today the amateur creator finds themselves under attack.

Remix Culture
Remix culture realizes that society can go one of two ways:
- Read Only-where things are created by a few elite then simply viewed by the public with no more effort than admiration
- Read/Write-a culture where people are encouraged to add on to ideas and develop their own branches based on an idea
Nothing is new; everything new is old elements recombined to create new ideas
Everything's a Remix

- Misdirection
- Graphic Material (e.g. Mickey Mouse)
- A strain on the current economic system/business model

we're
addressing this problem!
So Why Not Creativity?
