Prelim Task...

...The Deadly Secret

In our prelim task, we used the storyline of a young girl's murder, we can used this concept in our opening horror sequence

2

The Turn of the Screw

The opening sequence to this drama (which is like a thriller) features an effective montage of images and sounds of children, and this idea of children being able to psychologically scare people is what we want to incorporate within our opening sequence of a horror film

3

The Ring

This film is based around the idea that a woman killed her own daughter, who now "never sleeps" - this is a similar storyline to that of which our horrow will be about.

4

The Others

A woman who was yearning for the company of her missing husband and increasingly frustrated by the darkness required by her children, she went insane, smothered them both with a pillow and then, realizing what she had done, shot herself.

5

sE7EN

The opening sequence to Se7en uses a jumpy, yet effective montage which is the idea for our opening horror sequence.

The sound of a screaching effect used within the credits are effective in that it is psychologically scary - we will incorporate this creepy, screaching sound in our own opening sequence to give to same effect.

6

The Grudge

The story is revealed that Kayako was once a student of Professor Peter Kirk, and had become enamored with him. Kayako's husband, Takeo, discovered her obsession and in a fit of rage murdered her and their son, Toshio. Toshio is the stain, the 'grudge' of the house.

Our opening sequence to horror film...

Our horror film will be based around the idea of a woman murdering her daughter, and so now her daughter is haunting her; she hears her daughter singing, remembers the murrder (shown in flashbacks) and sees her daughters figure in her house and on the swing.
