The mission of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical garden is to build and maintain a public garden

and arboretum which promotes the art, enjoyment, and knowledge of horticulture, while providing

opportunities for education and research. The Arboretum attracts five hundred thousand visitors from forty six different countries each year. These visitors include eighty thousand school children and their teachers. http://www.dallasarboretum.org/index.htm

The displays at the Arboretum change frequently according to the season, and many festivals and themed presentations are held for the community to enjoy. Their mission is also supported by a variety of one hundred and twenty different art and gardening design classes taught by experts as well as a therapeutic horticulture program. Their childhood education program sees close to eighty thousand school children annually. These courses include interactive labs to fully engage the youth with nature.
