The audience for my media product would be people aged between 16-25 years old. This would be because this isthe main age gap where they are more lurative, but will target certain people. Black Swan and The Shining were successful due to the fact that they were open to a wide audience but also because of who the audience was, this would be the same as ours.
Our film attracts females but also males due to the violence of which is included within it. We couldn't really see our audience being out a higher class but we would obviously need them to be bright enough to be able to understand and grip the storyline that we have.
When narrowing down my target audience they
would be any race, any sex and between the age
of 16-25. They would be either a student or low/
middle class people as we don’t expect someone
from an upper class to watch this type of film.
They would be imaginative, serious and really
enjoy watching and following a character/characters. They would like films where you have to work things out for yourself instead of it being really obvious. We would like them to have an open mind when it comes to genre’s such as horror’s, mysteries and thrillers; including the sub-genres of thrillers.
Who would be the audience for you media product?
This is due to the fact that the majority of people of whom watch Psychological Thrillers are aged between this gap. My group and I have tried to keep it specific to both genders as we have mixed up the gender stereotypes within our product so this would hopefully in turn interest them as it is a new and unusual thing seen in the genre of psychological thrillers. This age gap would be appropriate also as there is some violence and disturbing images used such as the clips where quite a bit of blood has been used which could unsettle some people.
