Should Tuition Continue to Increase?

Between 1935 and 1950 Tuition costs estimated between $1631 and $2056. That is almost a $500 increase in 15 years!

The Following Graphs are a representation of Tuition Increases vs Year. The Y Axis is a representation of the Tuition Increases. The X Axis is a representation of the Year. All graphs were performed on my fx-9750GII Calculator using an exponential regression equation.

y= a.e^(bx)

y= (1.83295805263533 x 10^-10) e^((0.0154094716139178)(X)) (ALBERTA)

y=(8.80881403644663 x 10^-30) e^((0.037536130297505)(X)) (CANADA)

y = Tuition

x = Year

Solve for x - ln ( y/ a) / (b)

x = ln (tuition/1.832958052635533 x 10^-10) / (0.015094716139178)

x = year

Solve for y = (1.83295805263533 x 10^-10) e^((0.0154094716139178)(year))

Yes, Tuition should continue to increase. There is a downside to everything and unfortunately the downside of a good paying job is the hard work and dedication you have to put in to be successful. Tuition is going to continue to increase with the increase of societal goods and wage.

All other work was done by hand using the following exponential regression equation.

What Does This Mean For Tuition Next Year?

Who should pay for Tuition?

Tuition, on Average is increasing about $86 a year. This means instead of tossing an extra bit of cash to a parking pass, you will be paying that much extra for your education each year.

Although I do believe funding school is stressful and sometimes quite difficult to fund, Canada has a vast amount of options available for students in any program.

- Student Loans (Provincial/ National) - Pay Back

- Grants - Do Not Pay Back

- Bursaries - Do Not Pay Back

Yes, these processes are lengthy and time consuming but they are worth it and they are available to anyone in need of assistance.
