Preliminary to Final Outcome
Post Production
- The editing process of the prelim was much easier then expected and everyone in my group took it in turns to edit, this helped us see who was good at editing and who wasnt.
- When it came to the final outcome, we knew the people in our group who excelled in editing which helped other people do our activites for example, LiveType or Soundtrack pro.
- For much of the editing of the Final outcome my group and i were in the editing room whereas editing the prelim we were in our usual classroom, the editing room fits editing better as their is two-moniters to each computer which helps us when multitasking.
- We also had to film sounds as foley made our opening look quite cheap, we did this by going into a quite room and either filming the snow globe which we later used as the primary sound and we filmed whispering which was used in the trailer to define the character. Although we did use one foley soun for our alarm.
The filming the prelim was quite difficult at times as we had to film using the 180 degree rule which was tricky. For example if we were using the 180 degree rule and filming from the left we wont be able to get a good shot that could be taken from the right.
The pictures at the bottom left and centre show the contrast in us setting up the camera when filming the prelim and the final outcome. When filming the final opening the setting up of the camera and tripid was much quicker and simpler than when filming the prelim. Unlike our Prelim our final outcome only involved one person which means there wasnt any over-the-shoulder shots like we did in our preliminary.
In our final opening the we had an actress who studied drama rather than a member of our group as we knew that our final outcome will be come weak if the character couldnt act.
We also went over what we had recorded because in our prelim we missed out tiny details for example a hood being on in one scene and being down in the next.
We used various shots e.g. match cut, close up, long shot and a panning shot.

Pre- Production
When my Group and I did the preliminary it was quite difficult at first. I think creating the storyboard was the easiest part as it allowed us to use our imagination, finding a location to film the prelim was quite complicated also as we didnt know how to find a confined place which would look like an interogation room. We needed a room that was quite dark in lighting to give the prelim a more serious tone. Ths differs to our actual film opening as the process of creating a score was quite hard as we all had alot of ideas, although we did have an a simpler time finding the location as we knew it would be set in a bedroom. We wanted a bedroom that had a lots of light and a nice window which is why we chose my fellow group member Derya's Room (Bottom Right). We also planned out the props that were to be used, for example the pictures that our main character was to draw and her costume. But with the prelim everything was rushed.
