How did you attract/address your audience?
Typical horror movies do not start with all the action at the beginning, they usually start with an un-suspecting setting and/or character/s with the action starting later on in the film. We have turned this around and gone against the norm to push the boundaries of typical horror movies.
'Eden Lake' also has an element of realism, which other horror films do not, which is what we tried to create for our film. This enables the viewer to connect with the protagonist easily.
Our film has a typical victim as in all horror films. This victim like in our film is usually not like by others and has a hard time in school, this is baecause they are an easy target. People watching may be able to relate to the female protagonist.
Not many films have flash forwards at the beginning of the film.
one film which does feature a flash forward is 'Eden Lake'.
Our unique selling point....
our movie manages to hook the viewer in at the beginning of the film and makes them want to know what happens to the female character in the flash-forward.
The opening is in black and white which is like in the film 'Kill Bill' this was one of our influences.
