There is the support available. There's funding for training and advice available for free. We can help you prepare for your interview and debriefing so if you don't get it, you will next time.

What skills do you need to do the jobs you have identified? If they are just a few minor things then simply go for it! Many employers will offer basic training for a job if they like the candidate. If there are qualifications you need find out who can deliver them. There may be funding to support you.

When you do land your dream job, remember all the work you did to get there and apply the same attitude to your day-to-day work ethic. This will make you a model employee and you will go places.

After your gap analysis you will have a list of skills and qualifications you need to attain for your dream job. Firstly, are these realistic? There are differences between ambitious and unrealistic.

More and more people are being made redundant in today's economic crisis. It's nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about. Your position was made redundant, not you. With some work and preparation you can get a better job that the one you had. Be positive and work smart, not hard.

Think about what aspects of your job you enjoyed. Was it working with people, computers or with your hands? This will help you determine what you would like to do in the future.
