Youtube
Youtube is an amazing website where people upload their videos. It was expecially helpful on planning steps because we could watch many music videos and its recommendations to gain more information and ideas for shot types or editing. For example, our song choice was actually a recomendation of song called "Louder".
Blogger
Blogger is a website where I can blog all information and thoughts into one place. It was much easier for me to blog some updates. I had a possibility to connect from my Iphone and add few more words about what I'm planning to do next or what I've just done. Features like "adding video" or "adding photos" were used to not only tell, but also show and create connection with audience reading my blog. It's basically my digital diary that everyone can read.
Final Cut Pro
This program is a fantastic softwere for editing. Extremely useful during editing time, just after we've finished recording. "Razor blade" was used almost all the time to cut/crop clips and move them around. Also, we've used different transitions, colour balances to make music video much more interesting and connection with genre. For example, we used transitions when there are "pauses" in song to make the darkness combine with silence.
Lamp
Even though we haven't used that equipment that ofter, it was really useful when lighting was poor. Our clips must've been very bright and colourful, but some places were too dark to record without a help of additional lighting.
For example, in Evie's house we were unable to record her playing piano without additional lighting.
Memory cards
Memory cards were crucial in our project, as both cameras were using them. Its a fantastic piece of technology that allowed us to quickly transfer our photos/clips for camera into computers. For example, I did forget to bring memory cards for recording our skateboarder, and in result we must've go back home...
Photoshop
This program was really helpful, especially when we were making Digipack. It is quite straight forward and if you know the basics, you can improve the skills easily just my trying different features; e.g changing contrast, cutting out objects. I was able to create preliminary CD cover, but also final CD cover and advertisment. Most avaliable features were used by me to make visual connection with digipack and music video.
Camera
We often used cameras or flip cameras to photograph/record our ideas, projects or "behind the scenes". Photo camera was especially useful during recording, as we could take photos of what we are doing.
Flip camera was used to record stuff that do not require high quality, but must be uploaded into blogger instantly.
Movie camera was used to record our music video, but also reations and "behind the scenes".
Wikipedia
Wikipedia is a place where people share information with
different users about almost everything. Most information
have reliable sources, so that I can make sure that what
they say is true. I used Wikipedia a lot not only during planning,
but also when recording and editing. I gained more information about
artists and their record labels. I used to download photos from wikipedia,
as I feel that their sources are up-to-date. For example: I used "Data records" photo for my CD cover.
Facebook
Facebook is a social media I'm using almost everyday to
connect with outside world. It's a good way to learn something new
about artists once you subscribe them. They ofter update their status and upload pics from live concerts. I actually subscribed Calvin Harris and looked at his photos to get an idea how he dresses, and what is his "style".
GIF creator
Gif creator is a website where we upload pictures/screen shots
and make .GIF format to make it animate. This feature is also
in Photoshop, but it's much more difficult and time-taking. GIF creator
was compursory for my blog as I could animate and show many photos
without taking much space.
