When it came to filming the thriller, planned to use a variety of different camera shots in order to make it more interesting for the audience. However, there were some shots in which me and my group found difficult to film. This was because the tripod did not extend high enough in order for it to become a high angled shot. However, me and my group overcame this by making one member of the group stand on a chair and point the camera down at what needed to be filmed, making sure that they were holding it steadily keeping all the scens fluent

Because of the trouble that we faced as a group, we learned how to overcome them, as already mentioned. Myself, I learned how t film successful frames and how the camera can work in different ways in order to create different cinematography elements. For example, putting the camera on the tripod creating a long shot.

Before we began filming we were able to have the chance to use the camera and tripod. My group and I found this useful as we then had a good understanding of how the camera and tripodworked. In order tto learn how they worked, we set up a scene within the school grounds and filmed a conversation between two people. By doing this, we were then able to know how the tripo manouvered and how to use the camera successfully.

We also leanrt basic skills, such as , how to place the camera on the tripod

What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

when researching, filming and editing my thriller i used a variety of technology in which was neccessary to use in order to get the tasks that needed to be done, complete. Some of the technology used was Blogger.com on the computer, Freesounds.org again on the computer, we also used the camera and tripod for filming and then I used an editing software called Final Cut Pro X in which we edited our thriller on.

I learned a lot about the editng software that we used to produce our sequence. The name of the editing software was called Final Cut Pro X. The software allowed for me to edit the sequence and make all the clips run smoothly. The software had many devices which enabled my group and I to edit our filmed clips and make them look like a thriller. Whilst using Final Cut Pro X, I learned a lot about what was included in the software and what can be done to make the sequence look as effective as it can be. For example, it allowed for me to turn down the brightness of each clip, in order to create the lighting to be low key in which is highly conventional of the thriller genre. In order to do this, I had to click on the brightness button and decrease the brightness.

However, I noticed some weaknesses during the editing process. Although I had learned how to do it, importing the clips from the camera onto the software. After the clips were put onto the computer, it took me a long time to find them and import them onto Final Cut Pro. This was a disadvantage because it then took me longer to edit.

Another thing I learned how to do what to add credits into the sequence. Adding the credits were a good touch to the thriller genre as the font I decided to use were extremely eerie and had a hint of the colour red in them. These credits were used as I believed they were conventional of the thriller genre and my group and I decided it would look successful contrasting to the dark background. The last element in which we was able to do on Final Cut Pro was edit the transitions between frames. Instead of going straight into the next clip, I added effects inbetween each frame, this made the clip flow and overall made the sequence look more professional.

Overall, when editing and filming for the sequence I learned many new things in which I had never done before. Things such as cropping moving images was a element that I had learned how to do. I had to do this as one of the frames from the sequence showed something in which we didn't want to be shown, therefore cropping was the only option that we had to remove it. I searched on the software how to crop and successfully did it. Another skill in which I learned was how to import the clips my group and I had filmed from the camera onto Final Cut Pro.
