The Two Gentleman of Verona

Valentine and Proteus very sadly depart. Valentine goes off to view the world, to improve his inner self. Proteus stays at home because he is in love with Julia and he wants to win her heart. cute.

Speed, Valentine's servant, delivers a letter to Julia from Proteus.

Julia asks Lucetta her maid who to fall in love with. Lucetta tells Julia to love Proteus, but then the two of them start arguing and it heightens until Julia rips up the letter from Proteus. Then she regrest this action right after she does it. dumb, i know.

Valentine's in love with the Duke's daughter, Silvia

OH NO! Proteus falls in love with Silvia too! DRAMA

Valentine and Silvia plan on running away and getting married. BUT, Proteus tells the Duke what's going on and he flips out, banishing Valentine out of the court.

Valentine is banished and on his way to Mantua, he gets kidnapped. they force him to be their king. They're going to kill him if he doesn't accept the throne of their "outlaw country" so he obviously accepts.

Proteus's father, Antonio sends Proteus to the Duke in Milan. Before he leaves, Proteus and Julia adorably vow to be true to one another and that they'll always be in love.

Julia decides to dress up as a man (seems to be the fad around Shakespearean times) to find Proteus and be together again. little does she know that he doesn't like her anymore. sucks for her. Her undercover disguise is Sebastian, a page.

Julia gets to Milan but sees Proteus trying to get with Silvia. Uh Oh.

Sebastian (aka Julia) gives the ring that Proteus once gave her to Silvia.

Silvia asks Sir Eglamour to help her escape her father and find Valentine (her father is forcing her to marry Thurio). While they are on their way over the river and through the woods, to find her true love, she goes, outlaws kidnap her and Eglamour escapes, leaving Silvia to defend herself. He's probably not her friend anymore.

In the mean time, the Duke, Proteus, Sebastian (Julia), and Thurio go searching for Julia.

Proteus rescues Silvia (YAY) and wants her to thank him in a certain way...... sexual tension. But she refuses. So, instead of being the loving one and walking away from the situation, he decides to rape her instead. This alternative decision probably wasn't a good idea since Valentine was watching the whole thing and stops him. Proteus apologizes. may have been a little awkward due to the circumstances, but friends are friends. Due to their BFF bracelet (metaphor) Valentine gives Proteus Silvia as a reward for their friendship. I bet she was a fan of that considering she almost got raped by him and she's being treated like a lump of meat.

The tension and drama is so intense that Sebastian faints and they all find out that this boy is actually Julia. CrAzY. Then Proteus decides that he actually loves Julia more than Silvia. Excuse his emotions, they're a hot mess at the moment. Since all this enlightenment is going on, the Duke decides to join the enlightenment party and doesn't like Thurio anymore and thinks Valentine is better for Silvia.

Proteus and Julia get married on the same day as Valentine and Silvia and everyone is happy and friendly, although Proteus and Silvia probably have an awkward obstacle to get over before they become BFFs because he did try to rape her. just sayin
