The place where I live

We have a winner!

"Sky Mountain with its iconic tower dedicated to King Frederik VII that gave Denmark it's constitution 5. june 1849.

How do we measure hight

But being a true egalitarian country where even the less fortunate should be given a chance, we ended up with two lists:

Measurement with or without man-made heaps of earth on the top!

If we include the bronze age burrial mounds on top of some of the hills, we see a rearrangement of finalists:

Yding Skovhøj: 172,54 meters

Ejer bavnehøj, 171,04 meters

Møllehøj: 170,86 meters

A difference of a giddy and very prestigious 1,68 centimeter!

Which one's the highest

In 2005 Geodetic Institute put an end to an ongoing discussion: where's the highest point in Denmark.

Within a few kilometers there are three hill tops competing for the honour:

Møllehøj: 170,86 meters

Yding Skovhøj: 170,77 meters

Ejer Bavnehøj: 170,35 meters

Yes, we're talking centimeters here!

Look who's the real attraction

But alas, all three high points are no where near drawing as much attention as the molehill with the pretentious name Himmelbjerget (aka Sky Mountain!)

Every Dane knows this place where generations of pupils have been on outings and climped its staggering 147 meters.

The Eiffel Tower is 300 meters high ....

Denmark is small and flat

- so naturally we have an eye for detail
