Most film noirs are, after filming, edited to create a black and white
movie. This is a generic convention and we feel we have incorporated this
well into our opening sequence.
A typical convention of film noir is to show males
and females in different status hights. We have this
convention, but we also challenged it. We did this
through the use of adding a woman worker into
the piece. In the 1950's woman workers didn't have
as many rights as male workers and this means there
weren't as many.
We also show typical media convergance
by having our murderer as our chief
detective as well. This is also used in the
well known film noir, L.A Confidential.
In what way does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
We feel that our film noir would
appeal to more than one social group
ranging from around fifteen to over
fifty.
We do show social groups in the way of male and female
Superior to females
shown through a high
angle shot.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The mise en scene of our film noir is appropriate to the times we have set, 1950, and wouldn’t have a big costume budget. We show this through the use of suits for the males and the sub genre female. And dresses for the typical females of the time.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
15-40 years. We attracted this paticular part of the audience through the violence that the film includes.
40-50+ years. We attracted this audience through the use of a 1950's style and classic conventions of the 50's and 60's. People of 40-50 and onwards will be able to relate to these times.
Who is and how did you attract your target audience?
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you
have learnt in the progression from it to the full product.
Our preliminary was made during the beginning half of the academic year. This means we hadn't had chance to experiment with equipment making our use of cameras and I-Movie novice like. Doing our final product, we have had experience with using camera's and different technologies, meaning the quality of our final product has been increased.

TCM is a TV institute that broadcasts many film noirs and has been established since 1990.
HollyWood is the producer of many a film and we feel our film noir would be benifiacial to the profitable side of the company, this being the reason they would distribute it.
