Period of validity

The official medical prescription in paper form is valid for a dispensation with a maximum term of ten natural days from the date of prescription. In addition, the following aspects must be taken into account:

In renewable dispensation the period of validity is ten natural days from the date scheduled by the prescriber for dispensing.

 In the case of medicinal products or medical products subject to visa the period of validity of the prescription will be counted from the date of the visa.

For individualized anti-allergy vaccines and individualized bacterial vaccines, the validity period of these recipes will be a maximum of ninety calendar days from the date set.

Once any of these deadlines have elapsed, no medicines or health products prescribed in the prescription may be requested or dispensed.

Recipes from the National Health System (SNS)

They will not include the spaces destined to "Regime of use" and "Stamps".

In the "Contingency" space, "Medical prescription for private health care" will be recorded.

In the upper left corner, numbering elements and recipe identification codes may be included.

In the upper right corner, the name of the institution, if applicable, may be included.

The private medical prescription can be issued on paper and electronic media.

Medical prescriptions, public or private, can be issued on paper, for manual or computerized filling, and on electronic media.

The medical prescription guarantees that the prescribed treatment can be dispensed to the patient in any pharmacy office of the national territory

The maximum duration of treatment that can be prescribed in a prescription is three months.

In each paper medical prescription you can prescribe a single medicine and a single container
