The stages they have laid out here make sense. Invention seems to be an appropriate final stage, because teachers shouldn't get locked in even if it is new, and continue searching for new ways, or further developing/improving what has already worked. The results of integrating technology has agreed with everything that has been being discussed amongst technology integration news. As technology continues to expand its capabilities and become more accessible as well, how long will it take for teachers to be able to reach the invention stage and see the results for themselves.
Studies from integrating technology have showed that information has been dynamic, communicated effectively, increased collaboration, promoting independent learning, etc.
The authors discuss in chapter 4 the stages of technology integration. It starts at the entry level, then adoption, adaptation, appropriation, and finally invention. The final stage is when teachers are trying new ideas with the technology they have and assessing the impact of these new methods.
