Learning
From doing this project I have not only learned about science, but also about my work process in general. I learned a lot about the work environments that are best for myself. This may seem obvious, but I get a huge amount more work done
when I am in a quite place. I am able to focus much more without the distractions. I also found that the train is a great place for me to work. I got the majority of my reading done on the train ride to and from school which taught that me that I should be capitalizing on my time on the train with work from other classes as well. The final thing that I learned about myself is that I am very indecisive and have a hard time..
Science
I always find myself questioning things in my
day to day life. Whether it be about why the sky
is blue or how my i-pod is able to connect to the internet, I am always wondering about new things. Although this book was unable to answer all of the questions that I have about the universe it gave me a more in depth view of the planet that I live on.
I ended up thinking about the topics and ideas represented in each chapter even when I wasn't reading. The ideas spilled over into my everyday life which in result made me question everything even more. I can not say that I learned the most about one specific category of science through my reading because I really got small bits of everything. The book made me appreciate science and the study of science even more than I previously did.
Favorite Topics
I found the chapter on geology and plate tectonics very
interesting because it is a type of science that I had never
really learned about before. I also liked all of the cool stories
and anecdotes that the author used to describe this branch
of science.
I also really enjoyed the chapters on physics specifically the
ones about asteroids and the size/birth of the universe. I
think that I liked these ones so much because they made my
brain think the most. I sometimes had to read paragraphs
multiple times just to get a minimal understanding of the
topic. While this did get annoying, it also meant that I was
really thinking and learning.

Another aspect of the book that I really enjoyed was that it was very relatable and while it did use some confusing words they were always accompanied by simple explanations that made the terminology clear. All in all I really enjoyed the book and it definitely gave me a wider perspective on the way I view the world.

choosing something that i want to do/study. A majority of my time was spent figuring out going back and forth between different topics and ideas. If I had stuck to one topic, I would have been able to capitalize on my time much more.
